If you are looking for a stay in Sam Sand Dunes Jaisalmer then we will highly recommend Prince Desert Camp. We stayed a night in Prince Desert Camp and in this post we will review them.

Whatever I say or write about Prince desert camp it will be less. We arrived early at the camp. However our camp was given without any fuss or delay. We were really hungry so asked for some food they arranged tea and bread and at the end of the trip they didn’t take a penny from us for that.

What in Included in the Camp?

Tent from Inside

This is an all inclusive hotel, where you pay for the room, breakfast, dinner, dune camel ride and live folk dance at night. We have booked them through cleartrip.com, currently they charge ₹7800 per night per couple.

The tents are specious, clean and comfortable. There is 24hrs hot/cold water in the washroom. Washroom was really clean. Each tent has its own open balcony where you can chill or read books.

Tent Washroom

The dinner menu had traditional Rajasthani food-kair sangri (vegetable), daal bati, and chicken curry to name it. However for foreign tourists they had a separate menu as per their taste- boiled veggies and grilled chicken. You can have alcohol if you want to at a quite reasonable price.

For breakfast there were multiple options to chose from Poha, Aloo Parantha, Bread toast and Omelette, Puri Bhaji and cut Fruits to name a few. Both dinner and breakfast was yummy.

Camp location

Prince Desert Camp

The best part of this property is its location, the dune is in walking distance. It takes just 5 minutes walk to reach the dunes. This makes it easy for a night stroll to the dune or for early morning sunrise. The owners dog Marshall might accompany you for your safety as he did for us.

Activities offered by Prince Desert Camp

Folk Dance

Camel rides are included in the package. The camel riders are friendly and nice, and will provide tour to the dune nicely.

You can opt for dune bashing or Jeep Safari, can book through the camel riders or prince desert camp. Both of them won’t charge extra.

At night there was nice traditional folk music and dance, around a bonfire. The full moon night in the desert and melodious folk songs, made our trip memorable.

They can also arrange bush camping and desert camping dinner with extra cost.

Our Experience in Prince Desert Camp

Staying Amidst Sand Dunes

The best part of it was the next morning, all the guests left, me & my husband played Holi with the hotel staff.

Our cabbie ditched us last minute for the ride to Jaisalmer, but Shakti Singh from the camp not only arranged for a cab but also in reasonable rate. Thus we will never forget this gesture and always remember him and the camp.

In our review of Prince Desert Camp, we will highly recommend this place.
